Junior Kid's Connection

The Oswegoland Park District is pleased to offer an all-day recreational program for Kindergarten children enrolled in District 308, As We Grow Preschool and Brokaw Center students, and children aged four and five. Junior Kid’s Connection is located at South Point, and at East View Elementary School for Kindergarteners. Parents can choose from a full-time or part-time program.

 

For participants who attend Half Day Kindergarten, As We Grow Preschool or Brokaw Center students:
The program is available from 6:15am to 6:15pm, Monday through Friday including most holidays and full days off school. Children will be transported to and from their District 308 elementary school or As We Grow Preschool location by a Park District activity bus. Breakfast, hot lunch, and after school snacks are included. One to five day options are available.

For participants who attend Full Day Kindergarten: 
The program is available from 6:15am to the beginning of school and the end of school until 6:15pm, Monday-Friday including most holidays and full days off school. Full day kindergartners may stay at their school of attendance. East View Full Day Kindergartners may choose to stay at East View or arrange transportation with District 308 to their home school. Breakfast and an after school snack are provided. One to five day options are available.

For participants who attend Full Day Care: 
The program is available from 6:15am to 6:15pm, Monday-Friday including most holidays. Children who are four or five will love this engaging all day program! Art and craft projects, stories, group time, and weekly field trips to local parks and the library will all be part of the fun. Children will expand their knowledge of math skills, listening skills, social skills, letters, phonemic awareness, and language. Breakfast, lunch, and after school snacks are included. One to five day options are available. Children must be four or five years old and fully toilet trained.

Activities
Junior Kid's Connection offers an exciting curriculum! Daily activities may include art projects, large motor skill development, trips to local businesses and libraries, reading, life skills, writing, cooking, socializing, and games.

 

The Staff
A site supervisor and adult leaders staff each Kid's Connection site in a 1:8 staff to child ratio. In addition, all staff members are:

  • Caring individuals who enjoy working with school-age children
  • CPR and First Aid certified staff member(s) on site at all times
  • Screened and approved through the Department of Children and Family Services and at the Federal level

 

School Holidays
Junior Kid's Connection is open most non-holiday days off school. There is no additional charge for attendance on full days and half days off school with the exception of Winter Break Camp and Spring Break Camp. Check here for the 2013-2014 holiday listing.
